3 % inflation. NATO growing and more solid than ever. huge investment in tech and infrastructure. And Rs? Screeching about Hunter Biden's laptop and defunding the FBI. Simply pathetic.
About #DebtCeiling
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) tells CNN: "Almost 25% of the national debt accumulated over the history of the United States, 230 years, was accumulated during the four years of Donald Trump".. says GOP leaders "need to face the responsibility to pay for it"
@RHolcombeVT@JaneLindholm I was going to suggest this book as well. We used it when our first dog died… and the kids each wrote their ten good things about Obie. I still have those papers. Very sorry for your loss!
The next time you hear conservatives blame Democrats for inflation being at a 40-year high, politely remind them that corporate profits are at a 70-year high.
BREAKING: Shell has reported profits of $9.5B for Q3 2022 compared to $4.1B for Q3 2021.
It isn't inflation.
It's not a labor shortage.
This is 100% corporate greed.
Why are Dems so reluctant to blame inflation on one of its major causes — corporations raising prices faster than their costs in order to fatten their profit margins?
If they want to win this November, they must hone in on corporate greed and underscore their plan to fight it.
Corporate profits only accounted for roughly 11% of price growth from 1979 to 2019.
Today, record corporate profits account for 53.9% of price increases.
Folks, corporate greed is driving inflation, not workers asking for better wages.
Republicans in Congress claim that inflation is due to Biden’s spending, and wage increases.
Baloney. The major domestic cause of inflation is corporations that have been taking advantage of inflation by raising their prices higher than increasing costs.
Don’t be fooled.
@asosin @VPR_Connor @vermontedition Please talk about the fact that there aren’t enough doses of Paxlovid coming into the state (only about 224 doses for the entire week a couple of weeks ago) I understand DOH makes the call.
@DaveSilberman@josh_wingrove@bhrenton@AshishKJha46 We learned from the local Kinney pharmacist today that the Department of Health does the ordering for the state. Apparently they are limiting supplies? In RI there is plenty for everyone who needs it. I couldn’t get any when I needed it. Hmmm…
Yes! We in the Vermont House of Representatives just voted unanimously to provide $644,826 in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. That’s $637,077 which equals $1 for every Vermont citizen and $1749 from sales of Russian liquor till it was pulled off the shelves. We stand with Ukraine!
