I’m Loving HWS+ recently. just did the chapter on Internationalization/ Localization in the ultimate portfolio app. As a (mediocre) speaker of Spanish I found it super interesting to see the tools IOS offers developers for supporting languages. Very cool. Big thanks @twostraws
@di5guise Anyway, so much to learn. It’s exciting but daunting. I try to adopt the attitude of a long-distance runner. Something that I can see you are very good at. Any particular resources you have found useful Chloe? I will check them out..
@di5guise I have found the SwiftUI views mastery book from Mark Moeykins really useful and I’ve got a couple of Paul’s Swift books on my kindle that are helping a lot. One of them is Pro Swift. Something about just reading a book that is less intense, just what I need sometimes.
@di5guise Simply put, I feel that learning from two instructors with different styles is a big benefit. I bet you Paul’s project on hacking with Swift+ where he builds and entire app is really good but I haven’t quite got there yet. All in due course..
@di5guise Being one long project built from start to finish with lots of explanations and red herrings, but always returning to the same goal, the Stanford course offers more continuity with perhaps less broad reaching subject matter.
@di5guise Rather stuck at the end of 100 days of SwiftUI, so I stopped and I’m doing the Stanford course to build out my understanding. I found a change in course has certainly given me prospective. Anyway, well done you - i’ll look out for those milestone challenges as they come up🙌✊🏻
@di5guise Interesting Chloe, i get exactly what you mean, it’s certainly a balance i’ve yet to master. I know that by writing things down I’m at least doubling the amount of time I take to learn things. Hmm, maybe I’ll try a few weeks notes free and see how much more I get through.. i got
@twostraws Well said Paul. I’m 2 and a half years into studying ios development, whilst juggling 2 other jobs. Sometimes I get so lost I wonder what the hell I’m doing it for. You’ve been a huge help to me and yes, it often boils down to trying to do some coding - any coding, every day.
@twostraws@joinClubhouse Thanks Paul - super interesting to get an idea for what kind of questions to expect in interviews and how best to approach answering them. Well done everyone who chipped in, good to hear you all. 🙌
