a bunch of photographers & filmmakers are going to tell you the new iPhone 15 Pro is god's gift to imagery this week, and you need shit like LOG and ProRes to make good images now.
but the real one's know you can make gold with anything these days... so ignore the nonsense, play with it because you think it's fun, and be self aware enough to know it's just more gear bullshit.
Ray Stevenson is such a loss for the #Ahsoka show. His line delivery was immaculate, often making the best work out of the shortest lines.
His Baylan Skoll was imposing, complex, dangerous, elegant and wise.
He will be deeply missed.
#BaylanSkoll is one of the most fascinating villains in Star Wars history. I don’t remember the last time I was absolutely enamored when a new villain was on screen like I am with him. Tremendous execution with his character in #Ahsoka
if you see cinematography you like, don't ask the creator what camera/codec/lens they used - ask them why they chose that location, time of day, the wardrobe, props, and blocking.
because that's actually why it looked good, and it's stuff you can replicate regardless of the equipment you own.
Christopher Nolan says there's no problem with long films
“I've been working in films now for 25 years ... I've been hearing for all that time how young people's attention spans are getting shorter. I don't think it to be true at all.
"I presented [Universal a] 180 page script. I said the film is going to need to be 3 hours ... The most successful film in America at the time was 'Avengers: Endgame', 3 hours and 2 minutes ... If you look at the history of movies, the most successful films tend to be quite long actually.
I think the issue with length is if you're engaged ... [if] the movie is working for you and you're drawn in, a 3-hour running time is completely fine. If you're not liking the movie, a 3-hour running time is going to feel very, very long."
Nicolas Winding Refn gave a Venice Film Festival masterclass and slammed streamers for being “overfunded and rotten with money and cocaine,” adding: “[They have] kind of saturated everything” and “devalued content to just a swipe.” https://t.co/05qTr4vyjm
