#OTD 1964 - In one of the greatest trade in Cardinals history, the Cardinals "stole" Lou Brock from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for pitcher Ernie Broglio.
In turn, Lou will steal the hearts of every Cardinal fan on his path to the Hall of Fame - He would also steal a lot of bases!

Hitting the blank buttons was like being in a beverage casino. Maybe you’ll get an Orange Crush. Maybe an A&W. Hell, it was the 70s, you might pull a Busch out of there.
Nothing makes for a great school lunch like a PB&J, a thermos of Kool-Aid, and solemn contemplation of the often razor-thin margin between life and death.
Trust me, when you’re planning to record Electric Avenue in 1983 on a tape recorder made in 1971 that’s sitting next to an AM radio made in 1966, you’re gonna want the cheapest cassette possible.
Corporation: "We made $4B but spent $3.9B so we only owe taxes on $100M."
Government: "Totally reasonable."
You: "I made $60K but spent $58K on survival."
Government: "You owe taxes on $60K."
You: "That's not—"
Government: "File by May 15."
Trump took $59 million from 590,000 Americans for a phone that may never exist.
Then quietly updated the terms:
“No guarantee a phone will be produced or sold.”
The crypto coin. The sneakers. The Bible. The gold card. The ballroom. The phone.
Every single time the same pattern.
Take the money. Change the terms. Walk away.
🇺🇸BREAKING: Someone placed a $920 million crude oil short at 3:40 AM.
70 minutes later Axios reported the US and Iran were close to a deal.
Oil dropped 12%.
The trade made $125 million in profit.
Minutes after that Iran launched the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority” and oil surged 8%.
$760 million placed before Trump’s last announcement.
$920 million placed before this one.
Every major announcement in this war has been front-run by someone who knew it was coming.
What kind of war is this?
This is more like a trading desk with an army.
Never stop connecting the dots.
Today in 1951: The A's released Herb Washington, the only designated runner in MLB history. He was a world class sprinter who appeared in 105 games as a pinch runner in 1974-75. He stole 31 bases and scored 33 runs. He never had a plate appearance.
After his release, he owned 29 McDonald's restaurants, which at the time, made him the African-American franchisee running the most McDonald's outlets in the U.S.
Washington then went on to become a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
