“Our goal is not to replace human therapists. It is to make mental #healthcare fundamentally accessible." Our CEO, Michael Evers, sat down with @journoarunima from @HEmagazineIndia to talk AI-powered #mentalhealth and how it could help the most vulnerable https://t.co/gFdwLF0Ipz

Good luck with your study. Do keep us posted with progress! Cheers, André
@Mental_Elf@ThomasKabir As colleague Chris Hine (not on twitter) often reminds me - technologies often acquire meaning and create effects as they are brought into use.... #MentalHealthChatbots
@Mental_Elf@ThomasKabir Agree. I also think there is a need to try and learn more from people who are choosing them (rather than being placed on an arm of an RCT). #MentalHealthChatbots
@MarkOneinFour@gemmasharp11@Mental_Elf @RobertMeadows16 Now wondering how this might link to issues of therapeutic alliance etc....

@Mental_Elf#MentalHealthChatbots early data from our study raises interesting questions as to whether people want the chatbot to look and feel 'human'. Often the answer is no. Wonder if anyone else has found similar/different?
@Mental_Elf They're interchangeable. We might see it as a difference in technological capabilities. = chatbots seen as rule-based and following rigid rules, whereas, conversational agents learn, recognize, interpret and can respond with voice. #MentalHealthChatbots https://t.co/twWKFWbngK
@ThomasKabir@Mental_Elf Just having a quick look - I think those studies seem to focus on things like changes in Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS)… Not sure what else?
@MarkOneinFour @RobertMeadows16 Really interesting - wonder if this rests more on the 'promise of AI' rather than current capabilities? #MentalHealthMatters
@MarkOneinFour @RobertMeadows16 Replying to
@MarkOneinFour and @RobertMeadows16
'dumb ones' probably more rule based/following script? Interesting question. Wondering how you would define? #MentalHealthChatbots
Right then! It’s time for our first big question:
🤖 Are chatbots being used more in mental health and has the pandemic had an impact on chatbot use?
What do YOU think?

@Mental_Elf Devices/apps can be different in the technologies they use, the information they provide, the data they collect and the ways they appear to users #MentalHealthChatbots
@Mental_Elf A 2019 review identified 41 unique mental health chatbots - with just under half focused on depression and anxiety. #MentalHealthChatbots https://t.co/XwPLeFeonA
