@Bilbo2 @nocontextEFC Every increase, not that it isn't welcome, in minimum wage increases tax yield to the govt despite claims of easing the burden. My monthly wage went from £2013 to £2078 which is hardly. I do 45hrs a week for that.

Would have to be Asda Savers or Lidl/Aldi own, and no-one wants to go there. A pint may be £10 in some swanky bar in Mayfair, but it's still under £4.00 in a Northern pub

@Tbag19851985 @JamesMelville They were a club on the brink of disappearance in the early 2000s, non-league in 2008, nearly wound up in 2011, only promoted to the EFL 2 years after Ryan and Rob took over (2020). Investment could go wrong, but it didn't. They invested in the town.

@_CM_67_ @themagic_tophat I suppose the riposte to that would be "would anyone really like to drive into a UK city centre these days?". Many have made driving into them difficult and expensive enough that it puts lots of Brits off going there in a car. Which is what city councils now see as desirable.
