The support I've received while in my PharmD. Program and finishing my cancer treatments has been amazing.
To anyone reading this who is recently diagnosed or has a recently diagnosed loved one - do not lose hope. Your life doesn't have to fall apart. You and science are strong

Having been treated with a new biologic I was awe-inspired by the scientists who created it so I followed them into drug discovery. These drugs saved my life and allowed me to keep all my organs.
I'm happier now than I was before. My journey with cancer has given my life meaning
I spent almost 5 years getting treated, entering remission and then being treated again when it came back. The only impact on my university career was graduating 1 semester behind because I took 4 classes each semester to fit in visits to the local hospital to continue treatment
Uterine serous carcinoma has biologics that can fight cancer without the need of radical surgeries or chemo/radiation but they're not avaliable in my province so I went to a Cancer Care of America center and paid out of pocket for treatments. Best decision of my life!!
After diagnosis I decided to stay in university because all of my idle time was spent thinking about how I had cancer and university is good at keeping my mind busy. My profs were very supportive but there is often little to no support from admin for cancer patient students
#BellLetsTalk it's not just young people who struggle with mental health issues. Consider reaching out to your grandparents or an older individual you interact with. Everyone deserves to not feel alone. https://t.co/jenFmIQOXK
1 in 4 Newfoundland seniors are using highly addictive medications on a regular basis. Pharmacists have the drug therapy knowledge and tools to help patients successfully taper and stop these medications! https://t.co/MXdKmzL9Ef
Today was my first day interacting with patients at a community setting and my goodness, the move from designing drugs in a research lab to making sure patients are safely taking medication that is appropriate for them is one that makes my heart very happy.
