New report from @RexHoggardGC today on the track system.
Among other things: "The current plan is to not have sponsor exemptions or mid-season promotions from Track 2 into Track 1 events. Despite some push back from players, the Tour also looks to limit access for Track 1 players into Track 2 events." https://t.co/t8fWYgz8Vh
Chatted with the PGA Tour’s new Special Temporary Member, 19-year-old Blades Brown.
His plan? Wait to play on the PGA Tour. The phenom looks to secure 1,000 Korn Ferry Tour points before he moves up.

Jack Nicklaus first had his own golf tournament when he was 36 years old. He had one before Arnold Palmer. Amazing. Now it’s 50 years on. Wrote a little about it for the Daily Drive

Bob was honored in Augusta in April for covering FORTY Masters tournaments. An incredible achievement.
But he's been so much more than a great reporter to so many over the years. Friend, mentor. I could go on for a long time. See you on the road soon, my friend.
@LindaRenner11@StryderJa39237 What they're proposing is different than what we have now... there's a bunch of very good "regular" events that get demoted to barely above alt events, if even that.
@Irish_On_Tour@tweeth_mitchell Its not about sponsorship... The Nelson has the Salesmanship Club... one of long term more successful tournament host organizations on tour. Colonial CC organization simply can't match it.
If the Tour relegates the Nelson to a tier 2... it'd be a crime...
Exclusive: The DP World Tour has agreed a multi-year deal to continue staging the Australian Open after interest from LIV Golf.
Rory McIlroy will play at Kingston Heath in December and has been in talks to keep returning Down Under.

Memorial Tournament FIELD... 47 of 49 Top-50/49 from last year are in the field...
• Hovland & Morikawa not playing
• Knapp is a late WD... again (Week 16 Heritage was his last start)
• 4 Sponsor exemptions - Finau, Horschel, Kuchar & Rodgers
• 6 players playing their 1st Sig event of the year - Cole, Snedeker, Meissner, Hubbard & Kuchar (SE)
• Field goes 6 deep into FedEx list beyond Next-10 to fill the field
• Spieth makes it into field on priority # again (barely)... hasn't needed an SE to make any of the Sig events this year (barely several times)
The final ranking is LIVE!
No. 1 Ben James earned @PGATOUR membership and all other athletes have earned spots on either the @KornFerryTour or PGA TOUR Americas 🤝

@futureoffantasy@jerichsen66 Oh... well then... the list without the LIV guys is an eligibility list for various status for PGAT members... but the other list with them is the actual official all time list.
But I can understand why that's confusing...
I don't want to talk about SI here other than to say hell mend them.
Instead, I want to talk briefly about Bob, and I only say briefly because Bamberger has already talked about him at length way better than I ever could.
Regardless, I want to say this.
Bob Harig is much more than an exceptional, fair, scrupulous and accomplished journalist.
He is a fantastic human being. A kind, encouraging and genuinely good man.
Those are the parts you don't see on bylines. Those are the parts that are overlooked by morons with KPIs and OKRs and who gate-keep their P&Ls like high school milk monitors.
Those people are desperate for their authority to be seen, heard and felt. A thousand of them couldn't command the respect that Bob does without ever asking for any.
I'm sick that this has happened to him but I know he'll be just fine.
Bob will be back in media centers soon, doing what he does best. But in the (brief) interim, I’ll miss his wit and kindness.
He’s a great reporter. Moreover, he’s incredibly welcoming to all young reporters, always willing to lend a hand. An asset to everyone.
Being one of the subjects of a story is admittedly uneasy. But this is so incredibly nice of Michael Bamberger, one of the all time best in golf. Thanks to those who have reached out here and elsewhere. It is much appreciated. More to come.

I dunno how you annoint any of these young guns as to what they will or won't be by the end of their careers...at least not now anyway.
But I like Niemann as much as anyone at this point, especially with LIV beinf 72 holes now and assuming he'll be back to playing in better quality events outside LIV.
Puig, Smylie... Legitimate prospects as career "solids" IMO... but a solid step behind Niemann...
@Ryan1474643641@ProGolfCritic@livgolf_league Absolutely correct. But unfortunately for them so far this year, their outside play hasn't helped their SoFs much.
They definitely have some who've played very well outside, but its been mostly mitigated by others playing not so well.
