@CCfunkandsoul I remember oasis at glasto 94 - dozing in my tent someone walked past singing after the set ‘I am the egg man, you are the egg man I live at Woolworths’ not sure if it was a genuine mistake or someone trying to be funny
@glastobation Thinking about it, it was way busier before the super fence went up. Estimates over 200k people in 2000, with no Arcadia/park/shangrilla/woodsies - the site was way smaller, I think it feels really safe now, but like others I obviously misjudge who people want to see
@NorisMcSquirter@sirin_kale Oh and some are local who get their own ballot and get in every year.. I’ve also wondered if moving to Liverpool would help to secure a ticket..
@glastobation 🤷🏻♂️ I’ve been to 9 over the past 30 years, didn’t feel busier. Just a couple of pinch points park for - Barry cant swim, & Fontaines then trying to get to oxlyers from leftfield after avril. Seen it worse - depends on where you are and when but it’s all in the planning
Ended up in the centre spread of melody maker or NME - in the days of disposable cameras I think a quarter of the shots I took were of that - kevin in Camelsdale - heading to glasto 30 years after my 1st this week 🙌🏻
@steve_lamacq I was waiting for Evan dando in 95, eventually it became clear he wasn’t showing and the tent emptied. Being impatient we skipped around the back to see someone else, where we bumped into an apologetic Evan, who gave us a little set from the top of a minibus
@TheGlastoThingy Bowie in 2000 probably - although Radiohead 2017 I loved and pulp in 1995 when they stood in for stone roses - could list loads more from the NME/other stage headliners which were mind blowing…
