Automation, AI and robotics will dramatically improve healthcare, the environment, our homes and cities. The sky is not falling due to technology. 🗽🇺🇸🇮🇪
@jean_tavare45@VincentGeloso Mostly people whose grandparents and great grandparents fled communism.
In other words, people capable of reading the writing on the wall.
@VincentGeloso Winners can win without government picking them.
Because they’re winners.
All too many governments who allegedly pick winners spend a lot of resources protecting losers.
@beffjezos Unfortunately, your math doesn’t work.
Because you can do that while also earning a living.
So this $300,000 education might end up being free.
Sorry to burst your bubble 🫧
@thesamparr When you buy a house, you’re betting on all the subsidies continuing.
If they all ended tomorrow, it might take decades for prices to recover.
It’s a house of cards.
@thesamparr Housing prices aren’t the result of a free market. There are many subsidies involved.
The government couldn’t possibly subsidize the entire stock market as much as it drives up housing prices.
Imagine ending the 30 year mortgage. It only exists because of government.
@carlusjr@Skint_Eastwood1@Scott46253718 It doesn’t even matter.
People don’t have much control of their governments.
And they shouldn’t if rights of individuals are at stake. A majority shouldn’t be able to violate rights of individuals. Like their right to have opinions.
But this is the STATE violating that right.
@carlusjr@Skint_Eastwood1@Scott46253718 I suspect many such “leaders” are being paid off by foreigners. Or some foreign intelligence service is blackmailing them.
Representative democracy is vulnerable.
