@brit_gre @BruinsCapSpace His response to Neely’s 64 million quote is laughable. There’s no doubt the offer was on the table and he knew about it. Wait for it, the follow up will be the 8x8 is declined! That’s simply because Swayman’s camp have already declined it.
Depending on Foligno’s injury status, Bruins should use that LTIR money to acquire a similar type of grizzled physical veteran winger. Minnesota native Forbort and either Lauko or Oscar Steen to the Wild for Marcus Foligno.
@MurphysLaw74 if they can somehow get enough retention on his cap hit, he could be valuable against a team like Tampa. They’ve tipped their hand with the Jeannot acquisition and having Maroon onboard already.
@bruinsanalytics@JonasVorbau @bruins_stats cap works if you send Grezlyck and Zboril back in that package. This would be a very strong d-core.
Chychrun-McAvoy
Lindholm-Orlov
Forbort-Carlo
Clifton
@3guyboys@mattyports Hope they add a veteran left shot C, maybe Nick Bonino & a physical D-man, Luke Schenn. Zboril going the other way, 50% retention on Bonino and waiving Greer gets it done within cap constraints. Other assets that can be used; Steen, Ahcan & later then 3rd round draft picks.
I’m wondering how the Orlov add affects Grezelyck? I’m guessing top 4 will b some semblance of Orlov-McAvoy/Lindholm-Carlo. Leaves Grez, Clifton & Forbort. I can’t imagine a Grez-Clifton pairing working well & Forbort-Grez pairing forces 1 to their offside & Clifton out.
@ShopBOSHockey I highly suspect they have/had a deal in place 4 Gavrikov that hinged on negotiating an extension before finalizing a trade. Either that’s still in process or they can’t find common ground. I suspect Luke Schenn is the option they’ll pursue if they can‘t lock up Gavrikov.
@CamInTaunton@DennyPratt77 I wouldn’t trade Carlo 4 him straight up & I suspect that would be the consensus, so no, in my opinion he’s not an upgrade on Carlo. You could argue he might be an upgrade on Gryz, I personally wouldn’t deal 1 4 1 because Gavrikov is likely looking for 5+ per after this season.
@RayBelleville @TheFourthPeriod Lauko can bring as much or more to the 3rd line as Smith has delivered @ fraction of the cap hit, or put Frederic back up to his off wing on that line when Nosek returns, or Foligno (definitely played like a 3rd liner & earned more time this season). There r internal options.
