Learjet 35A @NSWRFS Firescan aircraft currently (at 1pm) imaging the main fire fronts around Sydney at 31,000 feet. These planes use non-visible (NIR/SWIR/FLIR - not totally sure of the exact band designations) sensors to look throught the smoke at the exact fire hotspots.
