She’s 20. She has family and friends. They would ask. $1000 / week what can she give? But $1m - might as well be $1b as far as friends and family are concerned. Small requests for $20k here and $50k there. No one realizes tax reduces immediately there isn’t an infinite basket of cash. The idea that she could take 100% post tax and simply invest is not realistic.

Same. People also forget that with layovers after 7 hours maybe you’re settled in or maybe you’re asleep, but it’s time to put tray tables up, seat backs upright and headphones off for landing. Then landing. Then grab all your stuff, file out, go through security, back to the gate, wait for boarding, board, and then after take off, maybe 20 min and you can put your seat back down and try to get back to sleep. There is something unique and magical about a flight where you can just chill and rest for an extended period of time. No one bothers you for almost 17 hours.
