@Mrgunsngear I just use a Glock performance trigger. A few thousand rounds in a 34 with zero issues makes me trust it. Shoots as well if not better than many much more expensive triggers.
@HavocTwoOne@WeaponOutfitter Honestly scaling is underrated.
If I am going to be operating inside of houses predominantly then my considerations are way different than working sight lines through a magnified optic.
Even more if I have my shit in a vehicle.
@Rebels_Raiders I’ve broken three plastic belt buckles (two Bianchi and one Blue Alpha) so I’ve sworn them off. Never had an issue with cobra buckles and nobody has ever been able to steal my belt in a fight rather in training or in the field.
But to each their own.
@handleitgrips I’ve seen more irons fail than any rds.
An rds gives you accurate target focused shooting, a more accurate point of aim, a better point for firearm manipulation, and a more natural sight picture. It’s faster, it just is, there’s a reason open comp guns run them.
@spiritussystems I’ve used mine to rip through laminated auto glass during a vehicle rescue. It’s great but you better make sure that you are angled correctly.
@MagicPrepper@HavocTwoOne Yeah I’d assume. It’s really nice for transitioning to my handgun and pulling out of a bag but otherwise the 1.93” is a really good height imo.
@MagicPrepper@HavocTwoOne I’m 6’3” and found that the unity height was more comfortable and I could still keep a good cheek weld. I also deploy my carbine from a bag from the back of a car so a FTC magnifier is really nice.
But now they have me on a 1.7” height LPVO and it’s comfortable enough.
@SSTFcreations@LucasBotkin Yeah I’m not the biggest fan of how the MRO looks but their newest SD is a pretty solid optic.
That being said I’m still only buying Aimpoint optics lately because they’ve been for guns I use at work.
@MidwayUSA@Springfield_Inc Yes, PID is important in low light situations. I’m out just as much during the day as at night and am in places with little to no light at times.
To not have one is to handicap your capability. Yes you can use a support hand flashlight but it’s a compromised grip.
@LucasBotkin In my opinion, the only real use case is if the thing lives in a bag as a secondary where you might need to deploy a 1x right away but keep a 3X on tap.
I use this for work and it’s fine, I shoot better than most people around me and I just hold a little higher for HRT shots.
@WeaponOutfitter As a “budget” aimpoint I like the duty rds. It pays the bills and is good enough for the government work of jumping around in the back of an suv going mach Jesus to hitting 100 degree temps straight from an air conditioned vehicle.
@spiritussystems It’s mission depended, as always. If you are an NVG enjoyer and want to be able to do passive aiming then maybe a piggyback rds is ideal if you need more magnification during the day.
@RealReaper27 I’m still convinced that the body double is the actual Mr. House who is just using the new House as a decoy. Hide in plain sight and all that, especially bringing up a guy who was sent to murder house.
@megigogi I respect that.
I run a flow 556k on my 12.5 LMT so it’s hearing safe enough for a mag or two.
Genuinely though a PCC slaps the shit out of any handgun or shotgun for HD.
PUTTING TOGETHER A LONG RANGE KIT
If you’ve been shooting an AR for years, even something custom you put together, making the jump into precision bolt guns can be jarring.
Heading down this road can be as simple as picking up a factory rifle and heading to your first match, but I think you’ll find if you want to pursue this seriously, with training and rapid skill advancement in mind, there are some gear and concepts specific to this type of shooting you’ll want to consider.
