@geandre99@itvwestcountry @ChinookDisplay I respect your view Gareth but it proved a very valuable exercise for the RAF, as within a few days they were plugging the Whaley Bridge dam. If the dam had burst then taxpayers would be plugging the £ gap. Total respect to our Forces who are silent heroes.
We're nearly there with 46 tonnes of pristine white chalk now on the Alton Barnes White Horse courtesy of the RAF - the last leg is to complete the re-chalking (39 tonnes left to spread) which will take place this Saturday (10th). Come and join us!
The final leg at Alton Barnes White Horse-10am on the 10th-everyone welcome at any time during the day-bring a rake, help spread some chalk & be part of the Horse's history! #pewseyvale#timeforwiltshire@theGreatWestWay@VisitWiltshire#WiltsHour @NorthWessexAONB @WessexNordic
@itvwestcountry We only got 7 bags spread on the 29th as we ran out of daylight, but we'll be finishing off the re-chalking this Saturday (10th), if you're interested and would like to help in this historic occasion please contact me.
@visitpewseyvale@VisitWiltshire@theGreatWestWay The RAF have carried out an inspection today, and we've the green light for Friday😀. The first lift is scheduled for 10:00, and if you have a rake and would like to take part in the re-chalking process let me know!
We've two CH47 Chinook's lifting 50 tonnes of chalk (kindly donated by Lovell and bagged by Wiltshire Concrete) which is going to be an amazing exercise and spectacle for all. Contact me for further details.
