The IL Supreme Court sent the student-mask TRO case to Sangamon.

There are two student-mask challenges already there (the original cases against Breese SD 12 and Huntley SD 158), which are being heard by two different judges. Not clear yet which judge gets this case.

Fifth District appellate court vacated the TRO entered in the Bond County student-mask case. Ruled that TRO could not be entered because the Gov, ISBE, IDPH were not parties. Big implications for all the other TRO cases pending!

The TRO hearing went forward and was denied by the Court. The mask mandate remains in full effect, pending any appeal.

Next steps in the case include: Possible appeal by parents; court hearing Oct 1 on Gov’s motion to dismiss; and preliminary injunction hearing in November.

McHenry County court cancelled a TRO hearing this morning challenging the mask mandate.

Case is being transferred to Sangamon County instead, where other challenges to Covid EO's have also been transferred. (Governor batting 1.000 in Sangamon so far.)
