@nickwebb2017 couldn’t seem to find the commentary for the match today, couldn’t seem to find any for the first match either. Is it not happening anymore?
@nickwebb2017 would love to come to a match this year, but being visually impaired as I am I would need real time commentary. Are there any grounds in division one that offer this do you know?
@nickwebb2017 finally chance to sit down and listen to the Cricket after a long week of travelling around north east Wales for work. Glad to see the lads doing well!
This is from a piece published by BBC Wales yesterday and updated yesterday evening.
The polling shows:
Plaid Cymru 30%
Reform 25%
Labour 18%
But according to BBC Wales it's "neck and neck".
Neck and neck 😃
Can you believe it? Neck and neck! 😆
Honestly, neck and neck 🤣
Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth has accused the Welsh and UK Labour Governments of a ‘contemptuous betrayal’ of steelworkers in Port Talbot https://t.co/4TAoYy3teK
Can we talk about something? It’s an inconvenient truth. Apple purchased the ATMOS format and prioritized it on Apple Music, meaning, albums released on Apple Music with ATMOS mixes are then prioritized over regular stereo mixes.
As a producer, this has been one of the most frustrating obstacles to deal with.
When I bring on a mixer like the brilliant @TrinaShoemaker1, or even mix an album myself, we are working in a lock step pattern with the artist from the creation of the album until the final moment it is mastered.
Often during the mix process, we will even make adjustments in the original tracks to accommodate a better sounding album. We turn in a stereo mix because: 1. Stereo is best, we have two ears and it allows for a beautiful picture to be painted between the two channels 2. Stereo is the industry standard for all music technology dating back to when we took the step away from mono.
Then when we turn in the album to the label. From the dawn of music until now, when a listener took in music, whether on the radio or on CD or Vinyl, it was the same recording, it all its stereo glory that all the folks involved labored over and were so proud of.
Now because Apple has made Quadraphonic 2.0 and used their ~30% market share of streaming in the United States, it’s using this flash-in-the-pan ATMOS situation to create a new industry standard: every album turned in has to have an ATMOS mix just to compete.
Now, here is my problem. Until recently, every album I produced left my/Trina’s hands and is mastered for all the formats… except ATMOS.
The stems (individual tracks not mixed together) are then sent, usually to someone in-house at the label to re-mix in the ATMOS format.
What do you get? An album mixed by the best ears in the business to then be remixed by someone who doesn’t have the experience and context of the album that all these folks put their hearts into, as they do their best to translate into a ATMOS mix. Usually not even 1/10th the majesty of the original, not to mention sometimes randomly panned in weird places to get the 3-D effect.
This to me is a criminal situation. Lately Trina and I took the matter into our own hands and started making extremely true mixes of her stereo mixes that would translate to an ATMOS mix. We took the bull by the horns.
But that doesn’t solve the problem, because ATMOS is a farce. It’s some fancy pants phase and audio magic to work with Apple’s $600 headphones or a $30k home system. And the baseline is:
Even when we do our best to try and match the stereo mixes we’ve made, depending on the headphones or speakers, if you’re listening on Apple Music, you are getting a wildly inconsistent representation of the music we all worked on.
Lately I’ve listened to several albums that I’ve produced on Apple Music and gotten all kinds of results if the ATMOS mix is playing. Vocals disappear, instruments seem blurry in definition at best.
I’m personally going to fight tooth and nail against this ATMOS prioritization even if I have to travel with examples of how this severely hurts many aspects of the music business.
I had to share my feelings. Get bent @AppleMusic
"It's the only site in the UK where virgin steel is made," says fumbling Jo Stevens, defending nationalising Scunthorpe and not Port Talbot.
It wouldn't be the only site where virgin steel is made if you had stepped in to save Port Talbot, would it!
🤦♀️🫠

You stepped in to save jobs in Scunthorpe but shafted thousands of steel workers, ancillary workers, and their families in Port Talbot.
Those people are rightly livid and will not forget the way you turned your back on them and treated them as secondary.
Labour is toast.
I’m gonna say it, folks, because I’m four beers in and I don’t give a fuck. Making social media accounts for your guide dogs is the cringiest thing in the world.
In a real emergency, governments step up to defend their strategic interests.
Plaid Cymru recognised the importance of Welsh steelmaking.
Labour chose to look the other way.
