Andy Burnham has backed some of the UK's highest-profile justice campaigns. As he becomes prime minister, as is widely expected, what happens next for the causes he has championed?
Sky's @JasonFarrellSky reports.
@labourlewis Thanks @labourlewis what about the failings of the scheme itself? The younger & earlier a victim died, the lower compensation becomes. Disparity between deceased & survivors up to over £1 million. Death is ultimate price. It must bring the ultimate compensation, not the lowest!
Today, as Parliamentary Lead for the Hillsborough Law campaign, I asked the Prime Minister to honour the promise he made to bereaved families, survivors and the Country.
Last week's Ockenden Report is another stark reminder of why the Hillsborough Law is urgently needed.
No more delays.
Pass the Hillsborough Law in full before Parliament rises for the summer recess.

They should still be here.
These are just some of the faces of people whose lives were stolen by the infected blood scandal.
Their families have waited decades for justice.
Now, even in death, many bereaved families are facing delays, unfair rules and a compensation scheme that still fails to recognise their loss.
Death should never mean less justice.
We won’t stop fighting until every family receives the dignity, recognition and fairness they deserve.
Gone too soon. Never forgotten. ❤️

The greatest level of compensation for surviving victims, must be used as the benchmark for those who were killed by decades of systemic state failure (corporate manslaughter?), delays and cover ups. WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP FIGHTING FOR OUR LOVED ONES!
#InfectedBlood Compensation Scheme is meant to compensate for all harms, why then is DEATH valued less than survival? Under the current approach, the younger a victim was when they died, and the earlier they died, the lower the compensation. THIS IS NOT JUSTICE !

FINANCIAL DISPARITIES MUST BE ADDRESSED
One scandal One community.
Yet families continue to face different outcomes based on circumstances beyond their control.
Many bereaved families have discovered that the compensation available can vary significantly depending on factors such as the date their loved one died, despite experiencing the same devastating loss.
For families, the impact does not change because of a date on a certificate.
The grief is the same. The loss is the same.
The years of hardship are the same.
We welcome the progress that has been made, but financial disparities remain one of the most significant unresolved issues affecting bereaved families.
We are calling for a fair and equitable approach that recognises the reality faced by all affected families.
No family should be disadvantaged because of when their loved one died.
No family should be left behind.
Justice must include families.

@GBNEWS Someone please tell me why one of them only got 25 years? Attempted murder can get a longer sentence. Just because this evil monster didn’t have the final blow, god knows what it did during those 4 months. Neither of them should ever be allowed freedom again
This Sunday, while many will celebrate Father’s Day, our community will be marking something a little different.
We will be observing Honourable Man Day.
A day to remember the men whose lives were stolen, shortened, or forever changed by the Infected Blood Scandal.
The dads taken too soon.
The brothers who never got the chance to become fathers.
The uncles who never saw the futures they deserved.
The sons, husbands, partners, and friends whose absence is still felt every single day.
On Sunday, we invite members to share a photograph, a memory, a story, or simply a name.
Together, we will honour the men who should still be here.

@NickTorfaen@AndyBurnhamGM@UKLabour Don’t worry Nick, I’m sure Andy will have a suitable job lined up for a man of your calibre. Probably nothing to do with Duty of Candour or Hillsborough Law though hey 👋
@NickGriffinBU ‘I understand that the legislation will include a supplementary route for those affected, which will give a 50% uplift. That recognises the unique and lasting impact on children and siblings affected while under the age of 18, bereaved parents who’s infected …
… died under the age of 18, and bereaved partners. Can the Minister give us a timescale for that?’
There is no supplementary route for affected, it has been denied by CO. Are you happy that a parent won’t see 50% uplift because their child turned 18? Carried in the womb, raised
@NickTorfaen credit where credit is due. From start to finish you have maintained an Oscar winning performance. Obscuring & embellishing the truth throughout the design of this disgraceful scheme. A true govt. henchman. #infectedblood@ibfamilysupport@SalBrinton@HepatitisCTrust
