Today we’re announcing a new £10bn package of support for Ukraine.
This funding will help Ukraine meet its immediate needs, support economic resilience, and help defend its sovereignty from Russia’s illegal invasion.
We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.
My Budget today will help families with the pressures they face now.
It will back businesses and entrepreneurs, invest in Britain's future, and strengthen our national security.
A plan to get through this moment and build a stronger Britain.
Delighted to be elected to the Foreign Affairs Select Committee and to join its first meeting grilling experts on climate change as a national security issues 🌍
Look forward to using my almost 20yrs experience in foreign policy & development to further the committee’s work.

NEW:
From Bangkok, IMF World Economic Outlook released…
- Upgrades UK growth this year by 0.3% to 1.3%, joint second highest in G7, defying the idea the UK would be hardest hit by Iran war… but inflation higher and growth trimmed next year
- UK “stands out” on deficit reduction, IMF Chief economist tells me, as its figures show a 3.9% point fall in deficit from 2025-2031, significantly more than other G7 nations, with 3 of them actually increasing their deficits over this time.
- IMF says UK should “stay course” on fiscal plans, Chancellor arrives tomorrow
- overall story of resilience in world economy, despite the clouds from the Gulf, as AI boosts US, Asia and UK to some degree… energy and trade proving flexible in dealing with shocks
The impacts of the DES scandal finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Sharing the news that Winton Health Centre is open!
Before I was elected I promised to get the centre back open. It closed in 2023, affecting 10,000 local patients. Working behind the scenes I secured the funding and supported local partners.
Promise made, promise delivered❤️
And last but not least the highlights from Day 5 of our Bournemouth Town Centre Takeover! Thanks to everyone who got involved and came down to support 🙌
This week my team and I are taking over a shop in Bournemouth town centre and filling it with local makers, creatives and community for a week.
We spent the weekend fitting it out and opened yesterday 🙌
Sadly Bertie didn’t place in the Westminster Dog of the Year this week, but thank you @DogsTrust & @TheKennelClubUK for organising! A great chance to highlight various animal welfare issues.
