@sfj8888@ArlineL0 Local lore says there's sewage pipes that cause the odor, but I think if you don't have access to a toilet, you're going to look for an inconspicuous corner to take a leak 🙈
The city has a team that regularly cleans up the tunnel a few times a year, including graffiti removal.
How to identify Woke Centrism
- Blames “extremism” for all our problems.
- defines history as a settled, flat surface against which any questioning is a bad faith move to undermine the fragile status quo
- engages in mind reading and assuming people’s intentions with a directed intent to cast the ever-eroding edges of the Overton window as "problematic".
- mentions their intellectual architects or leadership of ideology. (I don’t get this one—shouldn’t we always be citing our sources?)
- asserts the Normies shouldn’t investigate theories of "power" or "power dynamics" because those things are very dangerous subversions of the Pursuit of Truth (regardless that human nature has always and will always prize power over truth)
- engages in ad hominem, Motte and Baileys, Agitprop, gaslighting, Maoist struggle sessions and other Political Warfare tactics.
- defensively reacts to provocative points of view such as the "Constitution is dead" or "just a piece of paper" or questions the "Liberal Order"
Why does the Woke Centrist fail to see themselves doing this?
Because this is human nature, and human nature isn’t as rational as their own foundational myths assume
"Pedestrian islands," like these being built on West Main Street in Rochester, are part of the Democrats' war on cars and the people who own them. They are meant to reduce capacity and choke traffic, to make transportation difficult. They kill businesses.
Here I have "17 Sustainable Assumptions for Dialectical Social Constructivism" based on Leftist axioms. When placed in any of the LLM's and asked which political parties it aligns with it is always the Soviet Union, the CCP and Progressive Movements.
Assumptions
Assumption 1. Social Constructivism Goal: The entire goal of social constructivism is to reorient society’s beliefs away from objective realism, replacing it with subjective social constructivism to actualize an ideal reality for humanity and society.
Assumption 2. Dialectical Process: Social constructivism uses the Dialectical in a winner-take-all conflict of competing beliefs of various ideal states or realities for humanity and society, with a reorientation towards subjective social constructivism prevailing over all other beliefs.
Assumption 3. No Limiting Principles: Social constructivism has no limiting principles, be they moral, ethical, or political, as all of these are subjective and socially constructed, which would restrict the actualization of an ideal state for humanity and society within Dialectical conflicts.
Assumption 4. Holding Contradictory Positions: Participants in the Dialectical conflict can hold two contradictory positions at the same time because they view contradictions as part of the synthetic whole.
Assumption 5. Praxis Methods: The reorientation is done via an array of Praxis methods that afford society to be drawn to and participate in the reorientation towards a belief in subjective social constructivism while remaining unaware of the underpinning goals.
Assumption 6. Reason for Praxis: Most people would reject the concept of subjective social constructivism outright because most of society believes in objective realism, thus inhibiting the actualization of an ideal state for humanity and society. The exoteric application of Praxis is to slowly transform society without them knowing or understanding the underpinning subjective social constructivism.
Assumption 7. Motte and Bailey: Assume the exoteric Praxis (Motte) and the esoteric subjective social constructivism (Bailey). The figurative Motte and Bailey of this paradigm would be described as the practical, day-to-day applications and behaviors (Motte) that are generally accepted by society, while the underlying goals and philosophical beliefs (Bailey) remain largely unrecognized by the general populace.
Assumption 8. Purpose of the Motte: The Motte is purposefully designed to attract or lure people using affordances to participate in the exoteric Praxis, again without knowing the esoteric Bailey of reorienting society towards subjective Social Constructivism and that this orientation must prevail. The Motte also affords the use of tactical gaslighting against opposition.
Assumption 9. Polysemy in Discourse: Proponents of the reorientation towards subjective social constructivism use polysemy, meaning a term or concept will have an exoteric meaning (Motte) and an esoteric meaning (Bailey) for the same term or concept.
Assumption 10. Unconscious Participation in Dialectical Conflict: Advocates for subjective social constructivism view their opposition as unknowingly participating in the dialectical conflict without critical consciousness.
Assumption 11. Operational Use of Good Faith: Advocates for subjective social constructivism exploit the good faith of their opposition, who erroneously assume both sides operate with limiting principles, to achieve their esoteric ends.
Assumption 12. Indivisibility of Identity Groups and Ideals: Consider identity groups and their ideals as dialectically inseparable within subjective social constructivism.
Assumption 13. Creation and Sorting into Identity Groups: Actively form and categorize people into identity groups that are dialectically equivalent to ideals, engaging them in the exoteric Praxis of subjective social constructivism.
Assumption 14. Use of Historicism, Scientism, Legalism and Narrativism: Employ these as polysemic covers to give positions the appearance of legitimacy, aligning with the belief that history and science are social constructs to be modified towards an ideal state. Additionally, use these disciplines as an exoteric cover to obfuscate the esoteric goal of reorienting society.
Assumption 15. Perpetual Conflict: Perpetual (Dialectical) conflict is required for the actualization of subjective social constructivism. If oppositional conflict cannot be found, it will be contrived. This is also in accordance with contriving identity groups and sorting people into them, preferably but not necessarily reactionary identity groups also based in subjective social constructivism.
Assumption 16. As there are no limiting principles, stigmatization, delegitimization, provocation (both psychological and physical) antagonization (both psychological and physical), agitation both psychological and physical), mid-level violence, the inducement of psychological reactance, legal, questionably legal and illegal recourse against opposition and or political opposition and the use of political warfare tactics are legitimate means of affording Conflict engagement within subjective social constructivism.
Assumption 17. Conditions for Dialectical Progress: Subjective social constructivism accepts conflict with its ideas, conscientization into its principles, compromise on personal or societal integrity of upholding belief in objective realism, and capitulation to its movements, concepts, or policies.
I know a bunch of you aren't on Instagram, so I'm cross-posting.
the almost perfectly synchronized stride and sun glare made this seem almost cinematic.

Publisher: “Eric, we have received article X from researcher A and are inviting you to review it. May we send it to you?”
Me: “You are an insanely profitable business that refuses to pay for my work, expertise and time. Why would I want to do that?”
Publisher: “Perhaps because you might want to publish your work and have us send it to those referees who would like to see it published. Or you might want to see what your colleagues are working on before it’s published given that you have work in the area. There are many benefits to peer reviewing your colleagues after all.”
Me: “Woah. Are you saying what I think you are saying??”
Publisher: “Think it over and get back to us by Monday.”

There is a reason those profit margins are so high, so little of the work is innovative, and no one bucks the system despite the introduction of frictionless publishing. There is a reason so many academicians work for free with no profit sharing. It’s the hunger games stupid.
I’ve been reviewed. I’ve been a reviewer.
Its a shakedown with a few positive externalities. Which is still a shakedown. Its hard to fix but easy to see. Think about it.
