All this talk of having the #Guardians three best hitters vs LHP at the top of the lineup is perplexing as it doesn't verify at least stat wise.
Fry vs LHP (58 PA)
.229/.362/.313 with a .625 OPS
Hoskins vs LHP (63 PA)
.167/.302/.396 with a .697 OPS
Meanwhile on the bench after homering in back-to-back games...
Manzardo vs LHP (33 PA)
.379/.455/.517 with a .972 OPS
@_W1II_@NateStern I understand punting every once in awhile. But Vogt punts more than ANY other MLB manager it’s at the worst times. You’re playing a top AL team and have a chance for the sweep. Not a time to PUNT. Vogts a good manager I agree but don’t agree with half the the time he punts.
Stephen Vogt in New York on José Ramírez’s breakout (via #Guardians audio):
“He’s the best player in the world. Obviously got off to a slow start for him, which most people in the league would love to start that he got off to, but he's really, these last couple weeks he's been hitting the ball hard all year. But these last couple weeks it's really starting to look like Hosey”
#GuardsBall x @WEWS
The outrage over this is hilarious.
If he said this about a Met, Yankee fans would be pissing themselves laughing. But it’s about an often criticized Yankee, so it’s across the line.
