@ballsdeepindoge You truly make the world a better place .. don’t let it bother you.. I know that’s Easier said than done .. god bless you and safe travels my friend… good karma gods are smiling upon you!
I picked up Laya in Maine this morning, and we’re on our way to San Francisco. She’s not a rescue. She has a family who loves her very much, and they’ve trusted me to get her across the country a few times now.
The last time I transported her, we were headed to San Diego when we got caught in a heavy thunderstorm in Missouri. As soon as it cleared up, my Dodge Caravan started making a god awful racket. I thought the engine was about to blow.
Then the battery light came on, and I figured it had to be the alternator. Sure enough, a bearing was going out. I managed to get us to a Love’s, where we ended up stranded.
Now, some of you might remember me being stranded at a Love’s in Missouri with seven Basset Hounds a couple of years later.
That was the same Love’s.
And it was the same damn problem.
Hundreds of thousands of miles across this country, and the two times I had alternator trouble, I ended up at the exact same truck stop in Missouri.
I couldn’t tell you how many strange coincidences I’ve had out here. You’d think the more of America I saw, the bigger it would feel. But then something like that happens, and I’m sitting there wondering how I ended up right back here.
Anyway, it’s good to have Laya riding with me again.
And thank God we’re going nowhere near Missouri.
@NYCMayor If you encounter ICE as a citizen, nothing happens to you.
If you encounter ICE as an illegal immigrant, you're going home.
That's all you need to know.
Hope this helps!
Rocket’s been living up to the name I gave her.
We’ve spent the past few days hanging out in Vermont, checking out dog parks and taking a little time to relax. While she’s been doing laps around me, my friends at Shiba Rescue of New England have found her the perfect home.
Next stop is Boston, where she’ll stay with a temporary foster until her new adopter flies in to meet her. Then Rocket gets to take to the sky and fly home.
Gonna miss this little girl. Glad somebody gets to spend a lifetime trying to keep up with her.
The WNBA Finals so far:
- Players leaving the court during the National Anthem.
- @EnesFreedom getting kicked out of the arena for standing up against men in women’s sports.
There really is no organization more dedicated to its own self-implosion than the @WNBA. Pathetic.
Roscoe’s ride in the Doge Van ended in Regina’s arms.
He doesn’t know it yet, but she and Rick are his people now. Those two Corgis are his family. And that’s his yard to grow up in.
Both Beagles are home tonight.
Somewhere in Missouri, there are two empty cages. And tonight, there are two homes with a little more love in them.
Lola spent her entire life at a breeding facility in Missouri. Tonight, she’s home.
She’s got a family now. And I’d drive every one of those miles again.
