Speaking on the week of the United States’ 250th birthday, Elder @RonaldARasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles asked, “If religion is not there to help with shaping character and mediating hard times, who will be?”
Elder Rasband was the keynote speaker in the 2026 Patriotic Service of America’s Freedom Festival in Provo, Utah, on Sunday, June 28.
The Apostle celebrates liberty, love and religious freedom in the U.S.
“This promised land is a stepping stone to life eternal, to the presence of God the Father and Jesus Christ — if we live faithfully. That is why it is called the promised land. That is why we love our country. That is why we love our Lord and Savior.”
While Jesus Christ was on a boat with his disciples, a storm arose. But Christ was asleep. “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” one cried (Mark 4:38, New Testament). “Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased” (Luke 8:24, New Testament).
Elder @GerritWGong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles visited Nauvoo in late June to dedicate the new Nauvoo Temple Visitors' Center and rededicate the Brigham and Mary Ann Young Home. As part of the trip, he toured historic Nauvoo and spoke to an audience in the new visitors' center.
After two decades of planning and more than six years of construction, the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints now rests on its new base isolation system.
“The system is unlike anywhere else in the world,” said Nathan Espinoza, assistant project manager with Jacobsen Construction.

At the 2026 Seminar for New Mission Leaders, President Dallin H. Oaks highlighted the continued growth in the number of full-time missionaries serving around the world. Church leaders anticipate that within the next few weeks, the total number of missionaries will reach an unprecedented level — surpassing any previous point in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As this historic milestone approaches, more young men and young women are preparing to begin their service. In anticipation of this continued growth, Church leaders are providing helpful guidance and information for those currently preparing to serve or considering future missionary service.

Marking 100 years since The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square’s first performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1926, this historic return united music and humanitarian purpose in a celebratory concert benefitting women and children around the world.
One hundred percent of ticket sales revenue from the concert will be donated to CARE, Helen Keller Intl, and The Hunger Project. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will match the revenue from concert ticket sales, thereby doubling the charitable contributions associated with the event.

For three Sundays in a row within the last few weeks, Harriet and I had the joyful privilege of participating in two stake center dedications and one temple dedication—first in Salzburg, Austria, then Prague, Czech Republic, and finally in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon, where we dedicated a house of the Lord.
How beautifully these sacred places work together. In our meetinghouses each Sabbath day, we gather to worship God, strengthen one another, and serve as disciples of Jesus Christ. In the holy temple, that same work continues in an even more sacred and eternal way.
Each dedication has pointed to the same divine purpose of turning our hearts in worship to our Heavenly Father and to His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
Today we will meet with media from throughout California and guide them through the recently renovated San Diego California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Soon, thousands will walk through the doors of the temple during an open house as we prepare for the August 23 rededication.
It is an amazing blessing to see the Lord’s temples dotting the earth. I love the house of the Lord.
To me, Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is something of a sacred place.
Historically and spiritually, the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and the establishment of the Constitution of the United States led the way for religious liberty as the first freedom granted by the First Amendment.
How grateful we are to celebrate what the Lord has done through wise men and women to bring about the privileges many now enjoy throughout the world.
President @ChristoffDTodd dedicated the Yorba Linda California Temple as a testament of the Lord’s work. He said the temple marks a milestone in the progress of the kingdom of God on the earth.
At the same time, President @UchtdorfDF dedicated the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple. He said that by attending the house of the Lord, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints show they are willing to follow Jesus Christ.
Interior and exterior photos were released for the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple. This house of the Lord will be open to the public now until June 27th. The temple will be dedicated on Aug. 16, the same day as the Cleveland Ohio Temple.
Elder @GerritWGong released a video teaching how to hear God’s voice amid increased use of artificial intelligence. He said individuals are not data points, they are beloved children of God with moral agency and divine potential.
Elder @AndersenNeilL of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke to missionaries in the Philippines Bacolod Mission about the power of temple covenants. He said it’s amazing that the Spirit can be felt in every language, every race, every culture and on every continent. And called this a testimony to the fact that we are each sons and daughters of God.
The slippery slope that so many warned about is real. We are seeing it play out in real time.
My heart aches for the children growing up in such a confusing world. I pray they feel God’s love and understand who He created them to be.
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the groundbreaking date for the Huntsville Alabama Temple.
“God desires all of us to strive for His highest possible blessings by keeping His highest commandments, covenants, and ordinances, all of which culminate in His holy temples being built throughout the world,” President Dallin H. Oaks said in a recent general conference.

“Jesus Christ is at the center of this house of the Lord, and so we’re grateful to be here, be part of this dedication,” said President Dieter F. Uchtdorf (@UchtdorfDF), Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who dedicated the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Springfield, Oregon, on Sunday, June 7, 2026. This is Oregon’s third house of the Lord.
More than 200 Latter-day Saints gathered inside Oregon’s newest temple for the dedication. The sacred event was also broadcast to hundreds of other faithful members at local meetinghouses in the temple district.

44 years ago, I decided I would quit debating and find out once and for all if what my friends, teammates, and two young men in white shirts and ties had told me about the @Ch_JesusChrist was true.
There is a promise given at the very end of the Book of Mormon:
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”
Moroni 10:4–5.
Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, keeps every promise. I read, prayed, asked, and listened.
He answered.
That decision will bless my family and me for an Eternity.
– Burgess Owens, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

In 2016, I had the sacred privilege of organizing the first stake in Prague, Czech Republic. You can imagine the joy I felt returning 10 years later to dedicate a beautiful new stake center in this same stake. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in this region has not always been easy. Yet through unwavering devotion and trust in the Lord, the faith of members of the Church has endured. As we look back with gratitude for those who came before, we can move forward with hope and confidence in the future. This new meetinghouse symbolizes the faith of members old and new and will be a blessing for all who come and see.
Is artificial intelligence helping you grow, or quietly replacing your growth?
I invite you to join me at https://t.co/B5xFoUsTw6 on June 7 as we discuss how to hear God's voice in an age of artificial intelligence.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in more than 14,600 congregations around the United States discussed the importance of the Constitution and other foundational documents during Sunday services on May 31, 2025.
In a video shown on Sunday, President D. Todd Christofferson (@ChristoffDTodd) of the First Presidency, accompanied by Elder Quentin L. Cook (@CookQuentinL) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said, “We believe that the most important aspect of the Constitution is its role in promoting and protecting the individual moral agency of God’s children everywhere.”
Members of one small congregation (branch) of the Church in Tampa, Florida, shared what’s happening in their home countries, the freedoms that have been taken away, and how grateful they are for the religious liberties that now allow them to worship as they wish.
Dade City Branch President Steven Hatch said, “Whatever is going on in the world or whatever politics are happening, the Savior unites us. It’s up to us members of the Church and all American citizens to continue fighting for religious freedom for all.”
