According to City’s Annual Report and UEFA’s official numbers — City’s player wage bill is app. £330m. Divided on 20 players, that is on AVERAGE 317k a week. This is very modest, it was app. £308m in 24/25 and their squad has grown significantly.

So how is it possible that Anderson only will earn 300k a week — if he reach his bonuses? It’s simple, it’s not. City’s information planted in media is pure nonsense. Every time City sign a player, a wage number is leaked to media. If we add those numbers up, which is what Capology does, the total is around 190-200m. Yet the real number is £330m. So on average — any leaked number by City must be increased with more than 50%.

As another reference point, we can look at Man Utd. How much was United paying its players according to its annual report in 21/22 with Ronaldo, Varane. Pogba, De Gea, Sancho, Martial, Cavani, Maguire, Mata, Fernandes and co on the wage bill? Everyone of them were on massive wages between 200k and 500k a week (Ronaldo). So surely 500m if City is paying its players 330m? No, United had a player wage bill of app. £260m in 21/22. At least 70m less than City today. 70m less, that is 7 players on 200k a week. And United’s squad in 21/22 was massive compared to City’s today. Today United pay its players app. £160-170m.

There have been some leaks about Liverpool’s wages. Liverpool pay really high wages, but a little less than City. The leaks confirms that players like Gakpo and Gravenberch are on 260-270k a week. Is Anderson getting just 10% more from City?

Anyone who look at these things a bit more closely can deduct that there is no way that Anderson is getting paid as little as 300k a week if bonuses are reached. It’s pure nonsense, maybe his weekly wage is 300k and the sign on bonus is 10m a year over 5 years. His guaranteed pay if he plays football for City will be around at least 400k. And it’s not up for debate. Why? You don’t have a player wage bill of £330m a year if you pay top signings 300k a week.

330m divided on 20 players is 317k a week — on AVERAGE.

If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.

On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.

After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.

We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...

I've spent far too much time thinking about this: every great World Cup team in history enters a knockout tournament at its peak.

Brazil 1970. Spain 2010. Argentina 2022. Germany 2014. Hungary 1954. Italy 2006. I have considered performance, quality, balance, depth, goals scored, goals conceded, tactical sophistication and game-changing players.

And these are the last stages of this made up Word Cup

Quarter-finals

🇧🇷 Brazil 1970 beat 🇮🇹 Italy 2006

The greatest attack ever assembled against one of the greatest defensive champions ever assembled. Cannavaro's Italy would make life miserable, but eventually Pelé, Jairzinho, Tostão and Rivellino find a way through.

🇪🇸 Spain 2010 beat 🇭🇺 Hungary 1954

Hungary's attack was extraordinary, perhaps the greatest before modern football. But Spain's ability to suffocate games through possession and positional control would be uniquely difficult for the Magical Magyars to solve.

🇦🇷 Argentina 2022 beat 🇫🇷 France 1998

A brutal match. France 1998 had a phenomenal spine and perhaps the best defence of any champion. But Argentina 2022 had more attacking solutions, tactical flexibility and, of course, Messi still capable of deciding any game.

🇩🇪 Germany 2014 beat 🇧🇷 Brazil 1958

One of the toughest calls. Brazil 1958 had more genius. Germany 2014 had more balance. Neuer, Lahm, Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Müller and Klose form perhaps the most complete World Cup-winning side of the modern era.

Football's ultimate clash of styles.

Spain's defensive record and control of space were unmatched. But Brazil 1970 possessed too many creators, too many scorers and too much imagination. They remain the only team that could probably make Spain play a game they didn't want to play.

🇦🇷 Argentina 2022 beat 🇩🇪 Germany 2014

The match that surprised me most.

Germany 2014 might be the most complete side of the 21st century, but Argentina 2022 combined elite organisation, elite mentality and a Messi-led attack with genuine support around him. Dibu Martínez, Cucho Romero, Enzo Fernández, Mac Allister, Julián Álvarez and Di María made this far more than a one-man team.

And this is where I ended up after changing my mind several times.

Argentina 2022 are probably the most balanced team in the tournament. Better goalkeeper. Better defensive structure. Greater tactical flexibility.

But Brazil 1970 had something no other team in football history has quite matched: world-class players everywhere you looked, all at the same time.

Pelé. Jairzinho. Tostão. Rivellino. Gérson. Carlos Alberto.

Every attack looked capable of producing something nobody had ever seen before.

So my final ranking is:

One final thought:

I still think Maradona's 1986 remains the greatest individual World Cup performance ever alongside Messi 2022. But if we're judging teams rather than individuals, Argentina 2022 is the strongest Argentine side I've ever seen and, for me, the closest anyone comes to knocking Brazil 1970 off the top of the mountain.
