One thing I've noticed in Web3 is how people can spend weeks interacting with a project without really understanding what it does.
Then rewards get announced, and suddenly everyone's an expert. 💀
But when the incentives stop, so does the conversation.
And this isn't just about what people say. It's also worth looking at what happens to activity and user retention after incentive campaigns end.
Starknet's airdrop, for example, sparked debate over how many recipients actually stuck around. Some published analyses estimated that just 1.1% of recipients retained their allocations, with the estimated cost per retained wallet reaching $1,341.
I understand why people chase rewards. Nobody wants to put time into something for nothing.
But it raises an uncomfortable question: how much attention would these projects get without rewards attached?
Sometimes, the community looks more interested in the campaign than the product itself.
Web3 projects need to stop confusing incentivized activity with genuine adoption.
@aduwaye77@vangrid_io Data sovereignty isn't a compliance checkbox it's the wall that keeps defense and critical infra out of Web3. Vangrid coding borders into the protocol is the unlock.
@Cryptherapist02@EchobitExchange Fake exchanges and airdrop scams are the oldest trick in the book. If it looks too good to be true, it’s already draining your wallet.
@Savvy_Erudite@SYNTAofficial Geopolitics is just a never-ending game of 4D chess where the pawns are actual people. Hard to watch it play out in real time.
@MdRahi444797@PoiseFinance Chasing 430 is pure cinema. Brook's 202 was legendary, but Sri Lanka just reminded everyone that records mean nothing without the win.
@ericgudboy@primus_labs@KaitoAI Old tweets are permanent receipts. Buying an account doesn't erase the digital footprint, it just changes who gets the blame.
@Hossein_esv@termix_ai Digital diplomacy now runs on dead accounts and recycled photos. The narrative war is fought in the replies, not the battlefield.

I wanted to test a simple question:
When you give an AI coding agent a plain-English request, do you get just generated code or a reviewable pull request with evidence of testing?
I used Buildful to build a habit tracker. Here's what I found 🧵

@EdricETH22@rarelistio Creator platforms that reward contribution over follower count are the right direction. The question is whether the rewards outlast the campaign hype.
@HBO_data Physical AI doesn't need more data, it needs the right data. A warehouse isn't frames; it's geometry, clearance, and spatial relationships. VanGrid is solving the actual bottleneck.
