By the way it’s officially confirmed that Toyotaro will be signing autographs at Victory carnival this month, which means chances of a new illustration are quite high! This is last year’s illustration.
@knowsworthy Feels somewhat disingenuous to place blame purely on the market without asking for accountability from leaders who made multiple years of poor decisions too, but nuance is hard to find on twitter.
The internet reacts to Sony announcing it's killing off PlayStation game discs:
"Incredible of PlayStation to announce the end of physical disc production the week after they deleted all the movies you bought digitally from your account"

Killing discs in the middle of a storage cost crisis where you can only fit like four games on a drive to begin with is quite the move. See Xbox just cutting its 2TB model since it costs too much
Which means we, the consumers, effectively own nothing. We just rent games from you now, and you can revoke or change that rental agreement whenever you want. This is a terrible fucking move, Sony.
Time to bring back the iQue Depot.
In China the Nintendo 64 was released as the iQue Player and you could download games from retail stores using the iQue Depot. The game would download onto a flash card that you then inserted into the system to install the game.
