@kenwheeler This thread makes a good point, but I don't believe this is true. Maybe the food I get at my standard grocery in Austin is better than where Ken shops, but I don't know. Buy meat and veggies and it's fine.

@rmurphey My kids went to camp (while I never did), & I saw this immediately after. It's on my to-listen-to list.
My 12 y.o. had the amazing experience making a group of friends easily over her 2 weeks. It boosted her confidence in obvious & immediate ways. Also, not something I ever had.
@chriscoyier Over last 3 years I've gone from Obese Cat. 2 to "just" Overweight and fit for the fist time in my life.
My takeaway: Whatever we do has to be in the context of the fact that we have sedentary jobs and are surrounded with calorically-dense, too-tasty foods. It's a rigged game.
