Then when the Death Star starts vaporizing the Rebel ships, they decide to attack the star destroyers...why didn’t they just fly to the other side of the Death Star, opposite where the laser comes out??

Watching Return of the Jedi, couple of Rebel battle strategies I really don’t understand: why does the fleet arrive at the Death Star BEFORE confirming the shield is down? Couldn’t Han send a message out of the system once successful?

@emilylurice @eteq other issue is you need good velocity precision, not sure if you can get 1 m/s RV errors on t dwarfs

@emilylurice @eteq the signal is prop to star size, so M dwarfs are hard unless very nearby. With CRIRES+ can do Ms out to 25 pc I think
