SFD firefighters salute as @SalisburyNCPD and @NCSHP escort Korean War Veteran and Salisbury native PFC Henry Ellis back home to Salisbury for his proper funeral and burial after being killed in action Nov 30, 1950 and his remains were recently identified.
As the son of retired Fire Chief Sam Brady, Lt. Mike Brady has been a part of our SFD family for a long time and his passing is a loss to many. We extend our prayers and condolences to the Brady family, as well to his family and friends with the @RowanSheriff and Rescue Squad.
Today we remember Captain John Cross as he succumbed to a cardiac event July 24, 1961 at old SFD Station 2. This is the 60th anniversary of his LODD. Captain Cross was the second of three generations that would serve SFD. In the group pic, he is on the back row, far right.
