Because child gender is ~ random, we can estimate the causal impact of being a "boy mom" vs "girl mom" by conditioning on # of kids.
Mothers with sons are ~3% more Republican, while mothers with daughters are ~4% more Democratic.
Child gender has ~ zero effect on fathers.

@LordDr8ke That is really sad. But rest assured there are many other social contexts (such as the family context, religious groups, or educational settings) where the risk of sexual violence is likely much higher than in an LGBTQ+ pride parade.
Yesterday, I participated in my 1st ever LGBTQ+ pride parade, in Portugal. What a powerful and meaningful experience. What a strong and beautiful sense of community. Despite the current hostile political climate, we will never stop fighting and resisting. 🏳️🌈✊ #LGBTQ#PRIDEMONTH
