I know I’m like a year late, but I’ve just finished Succession series 3 and the brutaliiiiity. The ends will be gone to, to retain patriarchal power - it’s pure savagery.

After the lecture I gave today, one of the students came up to me and told me crushing over @THIIIRDmagazine is how she and her best mate bonded, and is what made her feel part of the creative industry as a poc. ❤️My heart is throbbing ❤️
Also the fact that she kept her cool about shit she was feeling until Kaz was on her date with Tyler, wins and breaks my heart at the same time. You can just tell she didn’t want to bring down the mood for her and was just holding it in #LoveIsland
Sooo 🤓

My Uber driver today was in a conference call when I entered the car which he continued whilst I was on my journey. At one point he actually paused in the road to try sort out a technical issue.
He was obviously doing it from a place of precarity. The employment of outsourced services like Uber, we have all seen in this pandemic, comes with little security. In Uber’s case I question how much is even done, when it come to screening these drivers they take on.
The fact that he was trying to balance driving with keeping face with other work, is mad. He was also performing very badly at it, if my voice could be heard in the background (I suspect it was).
Whilst the immediate reaction I had was rage at a service I was paying for to speed up my journey, slowing me down; and this experience has definitely encouraged me to keep loyal to my Ola app (which I have, mostly over the last year), a part of me also feels sorry for the guy.
