At around 3 a.m. on December 9, 2018, a homeless man named César arrived at Hospital Regional Alto Vale in Rio do Sul, Brazil, needing medical treatment.
As the staff cared for him inside, four dogs quietly gathered outside the entrance. They were the same stray dogs César had spent years feeding and protecting, often giving them part of his own meals even when he had little for himself. They refused to leave, waiting patiently until he returned.
Nurse Cris Mamprim witnessed the moment and shared photos that would reach millions of people around the world. She later said the dogs looked healthy and well cared for, a reflection of the love César had shown them despite his own hardships.
When César was discharged, the hospital staff offered him food. He ate a little, then saved the rest to share with his dogs before walking away with all four faithfully by his side.
César had almost nothing the world would call wealth, yet he earned something that cannot be bought. Four lives trusted him enough to wait at a hospital door until he came back.

Back in January, Howard Lutnick made the rounds on all the news shows, where he guaranteed a minimum GDP growth of 5%.
Yesterday, we hit a dismal GDP growth of 1.5% and we haven’t heard a peep from him.

Whatever you think of Fauci, turning a private residence into the setting for political confrontation is a troubling escalation.

BREAKING: Trump prepares to spend $1.6 BILLION bribing local police to help carry out his racist deportation campaign!
The Trump administration is preparing to dump an unprecedented $1.6 billion through September of next year into a program that pays state and local law enforcement agencies to help enforce federal immigration law – inflating a small partnership into one of the largest federal investments ever made in local immigration enforcement.
The money will massively expand ICE’s 287(g) program, which trains local officers to perform immigration enforcement duties normally handled by federal agents.
To sweeten the deal, the administration is offering departments generous financial incentives: $7,500 in equipment for every trained officer, up to $100,000 for new vehicles, full reimbursement for salaries and benefits, and overtime pay.
Homeland Security officials have made the expectation crystal clear: local police who take the money are expected to hold people they suspect are undocumented so ICE can come get them.
“If you run across these individuals, keep them,” a senior administration official said. “We will pay for your time and some of the equipment.”
The strategy has been working. Agreements between ICE and state or local law enforcement agencies have exploded by more than 15-fold since Trump took office.
Most of them authorize local officers to question, detain, and arrest people they suspect are in the country without proper paperwork.
Just a few years ago, ICE’s annual budget for this same program was about $24 million. Now it’s $1.6 billion before the end of next fiscal year – and billions more are already authorized for upcoming years.
Supporters claim this gives local police the “resources” they need. Critics see it for what it is: a massive federal bribe to turn community police into mini-ICE agents, complete with new riot gear and blacked-out vehicles paid for by taxpayers.
For generations, Americans understood the difference between their local cops and federal immigration agents. Trump is investing billions of our dollars to erase that line, betting that enough shiny equipment and overtime checks will persuade local departments to carry out his mass deportation agenda.
This isn’t public safety. It’s a taxpayer-funded recruitment drive for a national deportation machine. And it’s happening right now.

Prisciliano Trejo, who had leukemia, was reportedly denied medical care by ICE for 8 days while in a detention center run by CoreCivic.
He died just days later — and ICE is already shirking accountability. After denying him care, they released him to his family, where he died shortly after. They likely did this to avoid having another official death in custody and to keep their own horrific statistics from looking worse.
ICE and CoreCivic cannot get away with this. We must eliminate every for-profit detention facility and dismantle ICE entirely.
Prisciliano Trejo Ricano begged for a doctor for a week while he coughed up blood. Nobody came. He slipped into a coma… so ICE “released” him and said he’s not their problem. He died July 24. That’s not policy. That’s a body dump with paperwork.
F*ck ICE. F*ck Trump.
