@holland_tom So it wasn't Constantine?
BTW did you know that there was a claim that Constantine's mum, St Helen, was a British princess, born in Colchester
I wanted to thank @SimoninSuffolk for his wonderful websites, I've been using them for over 10 years with my uploads to @geograph_bi
Here are some pics I've taken of various 'ruined' churches: Kirby Bedon, Covehithe, Leiston Abbey, St Dunstan in the East (London)
@roga_ That book sounds interesting thank you. There's a great archive film of folk singing and dancing at The Ship , which @intheboatshed shared ( you may have to search ' The Ship' in the website ) - https://t.co/VD6qerZUCq
@psychojography @intheboatshed Apparently The 'Ship Inn' was originally called the 'Sheep Inn', however the sign writer didn't catch the Suffolk dialect and herd the word as 'Ship'. (Blaxhall is quite a few miles inland).
