I've just put out a free demo for Cage Legacy — an MMA management sim. You run a gym: scout fighters, negotiate contracts, run camps, work the corner during simulated fight nights.

I built this because it's the game I wanted to play and couldn't find.
Dinosaurs and ancient machines in one world.
A town you come back to, not a menu you pass through.
A raptor you earn over a mission line instead of unlocking at checkout.
You do not start with a raptor. You earn one.
Primeval: Ironwild — an action RPG where dinosaurs meet ancient machines. Three classes, four acts, and a village worth coming back to.
Made by one person. Runs in your browser.

@ap39ap39 Solo management sim here too — MMA gyms. What did you land on for demo length? I'm iterating on exactly that and there's very little good data around.
@NinjoOnline What fixed my management sim demo wasn't more content, it was more time. 20 in-game weeks and players finished it without feeling anything. Same systems at 60 weeks and the sim finally had room to do its thing. Probably cheaper than you'd think.
@_TheLittleCrumb Congrats — launched mine three days ago so I know the feeling. Worth doing on
day three: Steamworks shows median playtime on the demo. Mine said players
were finishing it, which told me it was too short rather than too hard.
Changed the whole build.
@AgeAfterAgeGame This matches my numbers and it took me a while to accept. Last week every
channel I own — X, Reddit, Tumblr, YouTube — sent my released game 8 store
visits. Steam's own surfaces sent 333. X isn't the distribution. It's just
where devs talk to each other.
@SpringloadedDev From the other end of that scale — I'm on 28 — the thing I can't explain in my
own numbers: the same capsule converts at 0.5% in Browse Search Results and
5.6% on the Personal Calendar. Same image, same tags. Did you ever see a gap
that wide, and did fixing the capsule close it?
Cage Legacy's demo was 20 weeks. The median player finished it. Some replayed it three times.
Not too hard. Too short to say anything.
60 weeks now — long enough to watch a fighter age, get hurt, and change.
Free. Tell me what week you stopped.
