This is the first time in years I've been optimistic of positive change in the #mbta. The Ashmont/Mattapan line shutdown, although inconvenient, resulted in the elimination of slow zones.

I hope what follows is how they plan on increasing train frequency.

Today, GM Eng released our Track Improvement Program 2023-2024 - a comprehensive & ambitious strategy to expedite subway track repairs to remove all current speed restrictions by the end of 2024. This program aims to bring tracks into a state of good repair across our system.

I'm... impressed and disappointed. Impressed this much work could be done so quickly and disappointed the MBTA fell into such disrepair. The MBTA has been both underfunded and mismanaged for too long.
