A case was filed earlier against the Isha Foundation by some vested interests for the construction of a crematorium by Isha, on the request of and for the benefit of the surrounding villages, as they had to travel long distances for the burial of their bereaved.

This case was filed in spite of approvals issued by the President of the Ikkarai Boluvampatti Village Panchayat, & the Assistant Director of Panchayats (Rural), and with the District Environment Engineer of Coimbatore South (Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board) having given their approval for the crematorium.

The vested media and social media channels picked it up and raked up a lot of nonsense and went to the extent of saying that people will be killed and secretly burnt there!!

That is the extent to which Isha is being harassed in Tamil Nadu. Even if they have all the required approvals, they are still being slowed down by such cases in courts.

Thankfully, the Madras High Court has now rejected the argument of the petitioners that no permission could be granted for a burial/burning ground and has dismissed this case.

This has become more or less a common sight in TN, where just around the Mahashivratri time, every year, there will be one or the other fake issue being raised and a lot of noise being created.

These days, the joke is that the detractors of Isha are making the Mahashivratri celebrations more popular by such antics :)
