"India has been very clear that its priority is its citizens and their requirement for energy. Ever since COVID, when prices crashed, the Indian government has been conscious of every opportunity to give us comfort in terms of keeping strategic reserves completely filled and ready. And when prices went up, to give the support required for the oil marketing companies, which have to bring the products first into the country and then refine, redistribute, and so on. So we have, I think, been very clear that what suits Indian interest will be the top of our priority.", says @nsitharaman, Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, at #ETAwards.

This is an opportunity for us to become more self-reliant, and the sooner we achieve that, the less pressure there will be on our foreign currency reserves..."

(And they drew a “mind map” on the screen behind me while I was speaking)
