I have formally written to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India regarding Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann public mischaracterisation of the Supreme Court’s order on stray dogs.

The SC order permits action only in specific legally defined cases involving rabid, incurably ill, or demonstrably dangerous dogs after veterinary assessment and under law.

It does NOT authorize a blanket mass elimination campaign.

I hope you have right set of people guiding you. Please ask them to go through the judgement. And also beware of karma. No where judgement authorises killing of normal stray dogs. Pubjab is known for compassion and charity. Don’t spoil the name of state.

केरल के मलप्पुरम जिले के एडवन्ना से वफादारी की एक ऐसी मिसाल सामने आई है, जिसने हर किसी की आंखें नम कर दी हैं. यहां एक आवारा कुत्ता पिछले कई दिनों से एक कब्रिस्तान में खामोशी से पहरा दे रहा है. यह कुत्ता उस महिला की कब्र के पास से हटने को तैयार नहीं है, जिसने कभी उसे निवाला खिलाया था. यह कहानी पथप्पिरियम की रहने वाली अमीना की है. पिछले हफ्ते जब अमीना अपनी बेटी के घर से लौट रही थीं, तो अचानक घर के पास ही गिर पड़ीं. शुरू में किसी का ध्यान नहीं गया, लेकिन एक आवारा कुत्ते ने खतरे को भांप लिया. वह जोर-जोर से भौंकने लगा और इधर-उधर भागकर पड़ोसियों को सचेत किया. कुत्ते की मदद से लोग मौके पर पहुंचे और अमीना को अस्पताल ले गए, लेकिन अफसोस उन्हें बचाया नहीं जा सका. अमीना अक्सर इस कुत्ते को खाना खिलाया करती थीं. उनके इस छोटे से एहसान का बदला यह बेजुबान आज तक चुका रहा है. जब अमीना के पार्थिव शरीर को मस्जिद ले जाया गया, तो यह कुत्ता भी परिवार के सदस्य की तरह पीछे-पीछे चला.
