Specific provisions of the Telecom Act, 2023 have been notified by the Union Government to take effect from June 26, 2024 as per a gazette notification dated June 21, 2024.

1. The Gazette notification states, "The Central government hereby appoints the 26th day of June 2024, as the date on which the provisions of sections 1, 2, 10 to 30, 42 to 44, 46, 47, 50 to 58, 61, and 62 of the said Act shall come into force."

2. These sections include the entire chapter on right to way (Chapter III), Standards, Public Safety, National Security and Protection of Telecommunication Networks (Chapter IV), Digital Bharat Nidhi (Chapter V), Innovation and Technology Development (Chapter VI), Protection of Users (Chapter VII), Offences (Chapter IX) and Misclaneous (Chapter X).

3. While large parts of the Telecom Act take effect the key provisions which yet have to be notified are contained in the Chapters on Powers of Authorisation and Assignment (Chapter II) and Adjudication of Certain Contraventions (Chapter VIII).
