Extremely disappointed with my ownership experience of a 2016 Jetta TDI Highline Automatic from Volkswagen India.

@kuldeeps1 @volkswagenindia @VW @AviatorPiyush Exactly.. but what upsets me the most is the attitude from the service centre. Gear problem—> change gearbox. Engine problem —> change engine. Anything else—> change the car. Won’t even try to sort the problem , forget atleast find out what’s the problem.

After months of unsuccessful repairs, I am now being advised complete gearbox replacement costing ~₹7 lakh.
A car serviced regularly at authorised centres should not end up here.
Hoping Volkswagen will intervene and resolve this fairly.

Timeline of repairs:
• 29 Nov 2025 – Gearbox gasket replaced
• 4 Dec 2025 – Sealant applied as leak persisted
• 13 Jan 2026 – Oil pan cover, gasket, rings & screws replaced (car in workshop ~2 weeks)
• 10 Feb – Leak said to be “minimal”
• 13 Mar – Leak still present
