@PhDVoice I did my bachelors, masters, and PhD at the same university too (same research geoup, in fact). I don't regret it one bit! I had a blast! I then moved abroad for a postdoc and will now start a faculty position. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you enjoy yourself.
Short summary of our latest @IUBiology paper @PNASNews:
Asymmetric fly wings shed light on the role of development in evolution https://t.co/lRpFxlu9QQ. Such a fun collaboration with @DBergerBiol.
The Call for Symposia is now open for the Third Joint Congress on Evolutionary Biology, which will take place in Montreal, Canada, July 26-30, 2024!

Now in Proc Royal Soc B: Male flies sacrifice time and body size to impress females with elaborate sexual ornaments. Who needs body mass when one has ticklers and elaborate forelegs? #smallbutstylish#sexualselection https://t.co/6XtxYetTda @rohner_patrick@Nalini_DrP @mfnberlin
Genetic variation can constrain adaptation, and correlations between trait variability and divergence are ultimate testaments of that. But how do we interpret such correlations when they last over many millions of years? New paper with @rohner_patrick

Ever wondered how the self-constructing, ‐regulating, ‐adjusting nature of living systems influences development, evolution?
And how studying living systems as such may expand the explanatory range of evo devo?

@wyldescience@RyanM_Sussex@DipteristsForum It depends! Males of most species grasp females at their wing base during copulation. But there are also some species where males are very territorial and show aggressive behavior towards other males. There's a number of studies showing sexual selection and sexual conflict.
@DanielBolnick 'Fruit fly' as in Drosophilidae? We have put together range size and body size data for a number of species. The distribution data comes from https://t.co/k4SI5JOfX0. The (sex-specific) size data stem from published records and museum specimens. https://t.co/hLrAuUp8SR
