It was so sad to read this. I had the pleasure of one on one session with him, together with my collegue Lars, and Joel acted as a mentor for us. I will miss him. My condolences to his family and freinds.

This really opened my eyes, for how powerful serverside js (mle) is. Imagine to be able to load and use thousands of npm libraries. APEX just became more low code, for complex enterprise operations.
