Cameroon Anti-Corruption Youths Movement has urged the Minister of Justice to investigate allegations of electoral fraud and corruption linked to the October 12, 2025, presidential election, which it says have contributed to ongoing post-election violence across the country.

In a letter dated October 29, the group's national president, Nkweti Roland Ticha, said Cameroon is witnessing “an unprecedented growing tension and violence following the official proclamation of the October 12, 2025, election to elect the President of the Republic.”

He added that the unrest is “directly or indirectly linked to the actions of those who corrupted and defrauded the election process,” warning that mistrust between citizens and institutions has widened because of these acts.

The letter stated that “many individuals were caught on camera bribing electors and stuffing ballot boxes,” and urged the Ministry of Justice to launch investigations and hold those responsible accountable.

“The Cameroon Penal Code in its sections 122, 123, and 141 clearly reprimands electoral fraud and corruption,” Ticha wrote. “We would appreciate if investigations are launched and the perpetrators judged for justice, and therefore peace, to reign.”

Eseka, Nine Years Later: The Memory of a Tragedy, the Silence of a State

Nine years after October 21, 2016, the forest of Eseka still bears the bitter taste of iron and blood. That day, Camrail’s train No. 152 left Yaoundé for Douala, packed with passengers. A few hours later, it derailed in a crash of steel and screams, leaving behind a field of desolation: more than 80 officially reported dead, and dozens more missing whose families never found their bodies.

The shockwave rippled across the country and shook the world. The entire nation of Cameroon mourned, while authorities promised to “shed full light” on this national tragedy.
Nine years later, those promises have faded away, one after another, drowned in the silence of the institutions.
