Day I toured LU I sat behind Sister Jean at mass. She turned around to talk to my parents and I about how great LU would be for me. Then she said to go to the opener that night bc the team was going to be extra special. This was Fall 17. Great person and all-time ball knower. RIP
@Swan_ASF It makes it basically impossible lol. Every year the majority of guys Loyola signs didn’t even have a hint/post of them saying Loyola was interested in them
To go off this. Sounds like LUC sends essentially a non substantive intro to nearly every portal player to gauge them initially. Most guys will say they have “received interest” from LUC. If that’s making the cut, you have no idea who’s actually interested in these player’s lists
Looks like another year of GW being mentioned in a lot of players’ interest lists.
Just a reminder that these almost always mean nothing. There is nothing stopping players from misrepresenting the teams that are interested.
Happy portal season!
@Henny1876926 That’s the thing. Everyone knows this is his last shot, including him. But btw, prior to this he has been VERY good at retaining players. Dawson was the first starter to leave in that NIL era stretch
Just to be clear, if we are keeping Drew this is what I wanted to happen. “Oh but he was pretty goo-“ no, the entire roster did not give what they needed to all year to the program. Full restart with new faces was needed
@Henny1876926 Whether it was supposed to or not, I’m glad it is. I’d have 0 enthusiasm going into next season if we were running it back with a majority of players from a last place A10 team
If anyone does return, I hope they sit down and treat what went wrong. We all need to be reminded how bad of a season we just witnessed was. I really don’t want any lingering vibes around next year from a ~300 KenPom team
Wondering people’s thoughts on this. Maybe it’s just a change in my algorithm, but does anyone else feel like this problem I discussed last year is way better this year? I think the new transfer portal window is doing its job
Does anyone else feel like the coaching carousel, transfer portal, and other offseason news has substantially more coverage on social media than the actual FINAL FOUR? I don’t know if it’s just my Twitter algo feed, but I feel like I’m starting to go crazy
@CurryHicksSage Biased, but I don’t see how this game would be more anticipated than Loyola-Illinois was. Analytical top 10 match up and an in-state game. Still think this will be a great game
I’ll tell you what, I did not think SLU was going to come out this hot, I thought they had peaked too early this season. But this is the absolute best they’ve looked the entire year. Those Michigan fans in the stands should start getting nervous
@BelkReport Serious question. Why exactly do people not like them? Their criticisms just look like it’s because they have some over the top amenities on campus. I know nothing about that school, but it looks fairly legitimate from the minor research I’ve done
College basketball absolutely needed this to happen. We were going down a very bad path if we started preferring boring 17-16 P5 teams to 31-1 mid majors
