These vintage Cleveland Skate Co. skate plates are from the Gloria Nord line. Nord was one of the "it-girls" of roller skating during the 1940s and 50s.

Every part of the roller skate has a story. The toe stop pictured here is the "Van Horn Jump-Spin-Stop." Designed by legendary vaudeville skater Earl Van Horn, this model was patented in 1951. Thank you for ensuring our mission rolls on.
This is one of the Museum's Henley Wooden Roller Skates.
Due to its age, there is no leather toe strap, but a leather heel strap with metal buckles remains attached to a metal heel cuff. The heel cuff is riveted onto the skate plate.
