@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna I'm an American. I don't live in the rest of the world. My country's supposed to be better than that. If the SAVE Act made it so that the poorest oldest grandma in the country found ID as easy to get as Trump found it to get into the locker rooms of teen girls, I'd support it.
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna Lots of states make voting by mail burdensome and the current proposed SAVE Act forces you to include a photocopy of your voter ID for every mail in ballot. Of course it's an access issue. Voter ID is a voter access law wearing an integrity fig leaf. They're designed that way.
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna Without one that meets the requirements for voter ID laws? Of course. That's because the motivation for voter ID laws is to make it easier for Republicans to win elections, and not some high minded civic obligation to the sacredness of the ballot box.
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna There are plenty of IDs that are accepted for a state assistance program that don't meet the proposed voter ID laws. A person might have gotten on an assistance program decades ago but now would babe difficulty producing a birth cert.
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna Your reply was to assert access to polls is a non issue. Not an answer, it's a preamble to your whine about personal responsibility, an odd choice when talking about people being fired for being late to work on election day, or live in a county where the ID office got closed.
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna What number do you think is larger
Fraudulent votes cast
The urban and rural poor who won't easily meet the ID requirements or get to the offices
I contend the second number is pretty demonstrably larger and you're either incurious about that or fine with them not voting
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna I asked you a question and instead of answering it you vented to me about your feelings. Scolding me to be more curious is an odd hat to put on that interaction.
@WeThePeople558@RoKhanna Why is it important to you that the sacred is difficult and why is it important to you that those with the least flexible and most precarious jobs have the most trouble participating in the sacred
