My personal take on it is that time will tell. We have no idea of knowing either way. Actions are what will define their ownership. Most fans want local ties because it implies the fandom is authentic. But as anyone knows, local ties doesn’t mean loyalty. Ask any Sonics fan.
I’m actually curious to see because we are set up for decades of ownership with Neal seeming to be the succession plan. It’s possible it will be even better than what we experienced the past few decades.
He has been a season ticket holder for 30 years and taking his son to Niners games since he was 5. I think that qualifies as being longer than 30 seconds. If it was just minority stake, people would be annoyed but get over it. It wasn’t. It was pure fandom too. If an allegiance that’s 30 years strong disappears in a moment of opportunity, what does that say about his loyalty to this team? People always dream up worst case scenarios when they don’t have all of the info. Until the owners speak, it’s all speculation.
@largie72@BradyHenderson Yep. Reminds me of Mike saying in his first year. If you come in out of shape, you won’t be on the team. Seems like they signed his replacement and now he has to earn his spot back.
@DodgeZane@realjeffsimmons@AlbertBreer I'm sure they initially felt that way in the post-game reaction. Since then, the media won't let it go because it's dramatic and a more sensational teaser to any story after it. The "once in a lifetime" play is way dramatic and engaging than the Seahawks were the better team.
It’s the media that keeps this narrative alive. The Rams clearly know they were the inferior team. You don’t upgrade on D like they did to bolster your goal line defense. They were a coffin corner punt away from getting swept. What will be fun to watch is the Rams got obviously better. Seahawks will get sneakily better. Only time will tell.
@GeeScottSr@nflcommish@NFLprguy Maybe they should give him free goal post dunks for the year. Since they are so good at using those to promote the league since they can’t get his name right and can’t spell his award right.
@GeeScottSr@nflcommish Don’t forget about @NFLprguy since he’s the one claiming they are “making it right” whatever that means. It’s more than just a typo when someone works their entire life to achieve a goal.
It seemed they were bummed about more than just not being able to trade down. It seemed like they had a lot of things happen they didn’t expect. They looked a bit shell shocked. I remember in previous interviews JS calls them upsets when things don’t go how they thought. Watching the JS Show this year on YT, they were talking about doing some new analytics related to the draft. I wonder if they tried that and it didn’t go anything like they planned. If so, are without a clear foundation for the rest of the rounds this year?
@CorbinSmithNFL Interestingly the message actually contradicts their brand slogan that Nike is behind anyone that decides to get out there and just do it.
This is the inevitable human reaction to ABS. They will continue to hit the players with technicalities whenever possible. If the margin for error is taken away from them, they are going to not give any grace. It will likely take a generation of umps who grew up with ABS before this retaliation mindset goes away.
@realjeffsimmons@BrockHuard Mora was finished too quickly. It's like watching the Mariners try to win a WS. You just keep waiting for your number to get called and it skips right by you every time. Hopefully this is the year!?!
@burackbobby_ This sounds crazy...and I'm 99.99% joking, but imagine the 4d chess. Helps the Eagles get revenge for the AJ news...and adds a ton of distraction to the Pats to help KC get back to the SB before Trav finally retires. Lots of upside. If she actually did...big props! 😆
