This is the time for long term profitable agriculture knowing the challenges commercial farmers are facing in Nigeria. Grapevine orchards will provide a long-term, sustainable source of income. With increasing demand for grapes and the ability to harvest twice annually, the financial potential is massive.

Here’s how you can become a part of this CLUSTER OPPORTUNITY,

Costs & Returns Breakdown for One Hectare:
Initial Costs OF Seedlings: Planting between 2,500 and 3,000 seedlings per hectare will cost approximately ₦3.5million.

Land: Land acquisition per hectare will cost around ₦2.5million.

Total Initial Setup: Seedlings and land together will require about ₦6million.

Annual Maintenance: Maintenance and Plantation Management: Will cost an additional ₦2.5million annually per hectare including labour, irrigation, fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide, pesticide etc.

5-Year Cost Estimate: Over five years, total production costs per hectare will cost about ₦16million, including land acquisition, plantation setup, and annual management costs.

Harvest and Profit Projections and Yield: Each hectare with 2,500 grapevines can be harvested twice a year. On average, each vine yields 5kg of grapes per harvest.

Annual Production: Each harvest from 2,500 vines produces around 10 tons (10,000kg) of grapes, equating to 20 tons per year.

Revenue: Grapes sell at an average price of ₦5,000 per kg. Therefore, each harvest generates around ₦50 million, and with two harvests annually, that equals approximately ₦100 million per hectare per year. You can discount this by 20%.

Grapevine Lifespan: Grapevines take 3 to 4 years to begin fruiting and remain productive for up to 40 years, making this a long-term investment.

CLUSTER Return Breakdown PER HECTARE: Total 5-Year Cost: Approximately ₦16 million for ten hectares.

Annual Returns: Starting from the fifth year, projected returns are ₦100m annually for the next 40 years.
