After the Soviet Union collapsed, Ukraine had the third-largest nuclear arsenal in the world.

In 1994, the U.S., U.K., and Russia came to us with a deal:
Give up your nukes, and we will guarantee your territorial integrity.

We signed the Budapest Memorandum. We gave up every single nuclear weapon.

In return, they promised to protect our borders if anyone violated them. That was the deal.

Russia broke it by invading us.

Now, instead of honoring the commitment, some Americans act like they’re doing us a favor by sending weapons —
when in fact, it’s their responsibility under the agreement they asked us to sign.

We didn’t just lose our security guarantees — we were manipulated, and now we’re being told we “owe” something for help that should have come automatically.

Let’s be honest — there’s a limit to everything. And that includes the blatant hypocrisy we’re seeing now.

Your president signed the Budapest Memorandum.

We kept our word. We gave up thousands of nuclear weapons — the third-largest arsenal on Earth — based on that agreement.

And now, instead of fulfilling the promises your country made, some of you act like we should be grateful for every bullet you send —
even though it was your obligation in the first place.

So before you start spewing nonsense about how we “owe” you something,
maybe go read the damn agreement your government proposed and signed.

We didn’t ask for favors.
We were guaranteed protection.

And you’re failing to deliver.

A year ago, I said that we need to learn to live as if America did not exist. At the time, I was attacked for being too harsh, but today's news only proves we are on our own with Europe.

The disappointing news came also from Germany, the country we really owe a lot. During the election campaign, Merz clearly stated that Ukraine should be given the Taurus missiles, now switched to saying they “remain an option for us.”

He gave hope, he took away hope. Nothing new for us.

As for the other types of weapon, the Germans remain leaders in providing us military aid. And I am infinitely grateful to them for this.

Yes, we were all touched when, while speaking at a press conference in The Hague, Trump showed unusual empathy for a Ukrainian journalist whose husband is a soldier and said that the United States would see if it could provide “some Patriots.” This was interpreted as a good sign.

But it turned out to be the opposite.

The United States has already blocked multibillion-dollar aid packages, suspended arms shipments to us and did not share intelligence, and sent anti Shahed weapon system to the Middle East, not to us.

Another test is ahead.

We have hopes for Europe, but please do not get your hopes up. We are dealing with inflexible European bureaucracy and economies that were not designed to prepare fast for a possible war with Russia.

Yes, the EU is now admitting out loud that they have wasted three years hoping for a solid partnership within NATO. Does that make it any easier for us?

It will take them a long time to get thing going in sincere belief that Russia will not attack in the next 5 years.

So when people in Ukraine ask me who is our biggest ally, I always say: we ourselves are!

We have changed long ago. We have matured. Once volunteers in 2016 knew each other by name, today volunteering is a nationwide phenomenon.
We got new skills that we didn't have until 2022. We are the first in the world to create new approaches to the development of unmanned systems. And what we come up with on the battlefield is studied by all the armies of the world.

Foundations and volunteers close thousands of requests from the military, from UAVs to satellite communication systems.

This is the best alliance. Civil society and the Army. The people and the soldiers.

We are grateful to our partners, but we have no right to get lost in illusions. Their support is the result of electoral cycles, ratings, and fears.

Ukrainians are consistent. And this is our greatest strength.

Нардепи Зеленського пропонують повну амністію за злочини в закупівлях зброї 🤯

126 народних депутатів (123 з яких – "слуги народу") зареєстрували законопроєкт №13423, який пропонує запровадити амністію за злочини, вчинені під час виконання оборонних контрактів.

Уявіть тільки: депутати пропонують виключити кримінальну відповідальність за всі види злочинів, якщо:
1️⃣ злочин вчиняється під час виконання оборонного контракту;
2️⃣ вчиняється службовою особою підприємства, включеного до спеціального Переліку, затвердженого Міноборони Умєрова.

Сам перелік прогнозовано буде закритим для суспільства. Тут варто нагадати, що бюджет для збройних закупівель у цьому році може сягнути 750 млрд грн.

Законопроєкт передбачає, що НАБУ та САП не зможуть більше розслідувати зловживання в оборонній сфері.

Більше того, починати розслідування щодо підприємств з переліку Міноборони можна буде виключно за погодженням з Генпрокурором. Тепер ясно навіщо його призначали.

На нашу думку, це відкрита легалізація корупції в оборонній сфері. Причому для заздалегідь погодженого кола постачальників Міноборони.

Все просто: спочатку ти платиш за “вхід” в список цих постачальників, купуєш собі імунітет і далі можеш завищувати ціни на закупівлі хоч в 100 разів – без жодного ризику.
