As we correctly predicted, the Attorneys of the Media, Information and Communication Technologies (MICT) SETA CEO have, today, written to us to inform us of his resignation.

Just like the now fired CEO of Insurance SETA, they appear to be asking the EFF to reconsider its court case against them.

There is another CEO who will fall very soon. Leaving us with 5 CEOs to go.

We took all 8 CEOs to court immediately after discovering that they were appointed irregularly. Let this be a lesson to all that we are career limiting for people who undermine the law, and flaunt processes.

SETAs are given over R 26 Billion every year to give our youth skills, especially those who don’t find space in Universities and TVETs. If we fail this sector, we will be failing millions of young people.

MURDER OF A FOREIGN NATIONAL IN DURBAN CBD | Police in KwaZulu-Natal have opened a case of murder for investigation following an incident in which foreign national, believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s was allegedly assaulted to death by a group of people (marchers) on Thursday morning, 22 October 2026.

Information available at this stage suggests that a group of people was marching on Dr Pixley kaSeme Street towards Maud Mfusi Street. Two males reportedly pulled off from the group and approached a man who was on the roadside. It is further alleged that the victim was then assaulted by a group of about 50 people and he was declared dead at the scene.

Police are following several leads and using all investigative aids to identify possible suspects. The motive of the killing is unknown at this stage.

@ME_Beaumont You are going to endanger the lives of our people through content creation that communicates false information. The numbers are still high, and we cannot afford to mislead residents, especially when we are trying to be cautious and responsible in how we communicate the outbreak statistics.

The Mayor must ensure that you are provided with the correct and verified figures before you go on the ground to create content. We cannot communicate figures that suggest the situation is improving when the numbers remain high. This is a public health matter, not an opportunity for political content creation.

Our communication must be guided by verified facts, consistency and the safety of our people. Misleading residents about the scale of the outbreak could create a false sense of security and undermine the efforts to contain it.
